Enjoying Life...as GOD wants us to!
Want a SPECIAL relationship with GOD? Here's how...
Enoch walked with GOD, and never saw death.
David was a man after GOD'S own heart...Daniel had an "excellent spirit", while Elijah was taken up into Heaven in a fiery chariot - he never died, either!
What do all these men have in common? They all had an honest love for GOD which they expressed every day in all they did.
Their faith was obvious to anyone examining their lives - it wasn't a perfect life they led, yet it was true, deep love they expressed to their heavenly Father as they lived their daily lives.
They didn't hide their sin, they confessed it.
There was no pretense, no hypocritical games were played, just real, honest communication between a disciple and their Lord.
David said in Psalms 25, "Show me thy ways, O Lord - teach me Thy paths."
These men often laid their lives down as they walked with their GOD...
Shadrach, Meschach, and Abed-nego were willing to trust GOD with their lives, and were rewarded by His divine protection.
Many fasted for days at a time, both to humble their flesh, and to give to GOD something He really wanted; their love and devotion!
Contrast their lives with ours today.
Most of us spend the majority of our time "earning a living," or maybe just keeping the bill collectors happy...
Our hearts are set on the next vacation, Christmas with the family, visiting with friends or making business contacts.
None of these things are bad in themselves - in fact, there's nothing wrong with any of them!
But...
Where does GOD fit in?
When was the last time you spent the day alone with your Heavenly Father?
When was the last time you spent the day with Jesus, walking with Him, talking with Him, delighting in Him?
He died for you...how do you respond to that?
We as Christians should respond to that every day, because our GOD is not dead, He is ALIVE!
He WANTS to have a relationship with you, a CLOSE, DEEPLY PERSONAL relationship, just like the ones He had with Enoch, Elijah, Job, Daniel, David, and Solomon, just to name a few.
What are you doing with your life? How are you expressing your FAITH?
Try this:
Spend an hour or two talking to the Lord before you go into work. Sure, you'll miss some sleep, but that's what love is about, isn't it? GIVING for the one you love...
Try PRAISING your Lord for all He has done for you...not just singing songs someone else wrote...that's okay too, but try writing a few yourself, songs that express how you feel about your GOD.
Maybe make one up on the spot...it doesn't have to be a publishable song - just the fact it comes from you will touch His heart!
Your Heavenly Father LOVES you, and is PLEASED with every love song you sing to Him!
Incorporate these things into your life everyday - make them regular HABITS. FEED your faith, and watch it GROW into something beautiful!
Or you can starve it.
Starve it, and lose every spiritual battle you fight.
Walk in fear, doubt, and unbelief...
Most church members in the United States are spiritually starved, and too afraid to do anything about it.
Not you, though. You're going to do something about it.
Remember, the choice is yours.
A life filled with GOD's Presence everyday, or a life excluding Him.
Every day you choose one to the other.
Choose wisely.
Choose LOVE.
Choose a life with the Father.
Make that choice TODAY, and follow through in FAITH.
