Elton John Says I Do
Singer Elton John tied the knot with longtime partner David Furnish in a private ceremony on Wednesday.

John, 58, and Furnish, 43, were married under a new law in England allowing same-sex marriages. The ceremony was a very intimate affair at Windsor’s town hall and was attended by their parents, their dog Arthur, and a few close friends. Furnish’s father Jack reportedly said, "It was a short and sweet affair but it was also a great service and it’s definitely one of the happiest days of our lives. They are a lovely couple and it’s just so great to see them so happy. The ceremony was followed by a $2 million reception at John’s mansion. Two large tents were set up and guests enjoyed pink champagne and lamb. There were more than 600 friends and family members in attendance.
The couple kicked off the two-day celebration with an over the top joint bachelor party on Monday night. The festivities went down at the Too2Much nightclub with shirtless waiters serving champagne and sushi. The fete was attended by the likes of Kid Rock, Bryan Adams, and Elizabeth Hurley. The couple asked guests to forgo gifts and make donations to AIDS charities instead.
After dating for 11 years, John and Furnish announced their engagement in April. In 1995, Furnish chronicled his relationship with John in a documentary titled Tantrums & Tiaras. John claims he owes his life to Furnish for helping kick his drug and alcohol habits, addictions that almost killed the singer. This is John’s second marriage. He was married to German music producer Renate Blauel for four years.
