NFL Player of the Week- Donovan McNabb
Donovan McNabb can do it all. This is why he is the Player of the Week. He carried the Eagles to a big win over the mighty Washington Redskins.
The Player of the week for week 13 of the National Football League season is Philadelpia Eagles Quarterback Donovan McNabb.
McNabb combined all of his offensive skills in this game, as he led the Philadelphia Eagles to a 23-20 win over the Washington Redskins.
Not only did McNabb complete 19 of his 30 pass attempts for 137 yards and a touchdown, but he also carried the ball 11 times for 125 yards and a touchdown.
McNabb has thrown for 2538 yards on 266 completions so far this season for an average of 9.54 yards per reception. He is also leading the Eagles team in rushing, with 558 yards on 72 carries. That equals 7.75 yards per carry.
On Sunday, McNabb averaged 11.36 yards per carry, including a 54 yard run with just over three minutes to play in the game. On third down and ten, McNabb carried the ball 54 yards to the Washington seven yard line. The Eagles offense couldn't get into the end zone on the next three plays, but kicker David Akers came in and kicked a 30-yard field goal to put the Eagles up 23-20.
McNabb is following in the footsteps of his boyhood idol, and trying to become the first quarterback to lead his team in rushing, since Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Randall Cunningham.
McNabb is just one of many great young quarterbacks, that bring alot of excitement to the game. This week, he showed exactly why he should be feared not only through the air, but also on the ground.
