Christmas Thoughts

" For some it must be, oh so hard,
Here we are with present and card.
In the corner, a beautiful Christmas tree,
some people are glad, just to be free.
I wonder sometimes, if we were to halve
and give just some of it to those who starve,
Maybe, just maybe, we could one and all
remember the story of a babe in a stall.
Perhaps, perhaps, we would remember then
about, peace on earth, goodwill to all men,
Then look forward without too much fear
to the nicest, peaceful, Happy New Year."
