Kate Hudson is Staying Single

Kate Hudson has proclaimed that she intends to stay single indefinitely, leaving only the faintest hope for her millions of suitors.
As Kate Hudson’s star continues to rise, rumors about her marital intentions have accelerated, with many saying that she and long-time boyfriend Chris Robinson of the Black Crowes are now engaged. Hudson is quick to dismiss the tabloid talk as just that and says that, although she and Robinson are clearly soul mates, the two have no desire to marry. Hudson seems to be searching for a situation similar to the one in which she was raised, with superstar Mom Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell as her parents. Hudson acknowledges Russell as her "true father," although her biological father is Bill Hudson, who was married to Hawn for six years and left when Kate was only three.

The "Almost Famous" darling continued to say that the ring she recently received from her rocker beau is only a friendship ring and does not signify a pending engagement or wedding plans. All of this will probably serve only to increase her already exploding popularity in Hollywood. She is already the most sought-after female talent in town and by declaring herself indefinitely single, she seems destined to take her Hollywood Hottie status to unprecedented levels.

Hudson’s views on marriage seem to mirror those of her peers and her generation in general, with many young people choosing to forgo an early marriage in return for personal or professional fulfillment in other areas of their lives. Although Hudson’s radical new concept of the ideal family structure may never hit the mainstream, her attitude is indicative of a larger "happiness-before-tradition" movement among America’s youth.
