Liza & David Sue

The show, Liza and David, was to be a candid look at the private lives of these two celebrities and was to air on VH1. The Liza’s signed a contract in July and after filming 60 hours (and with only one episode complete) the network contacted Gest’s lawyer citing breach of contract and declaring the show a no-go.

Apparently, the reason for the cancellation lies with David Gest and not Liza. Sources close to the drama say that Gest is a "neat freak" and "redefines the term ‘control freak.’" Gest reportedly canceled production approximately 20 times and had a bodyguard placed outside to keep production crews out. Seems that Liza wanted to do the show but Gest wouldn’t let her. Well, apparently the network had enough. And now the Liza’s have decided to sue. They are citing "breach of contract…unlawful intentional and defamatory acts" and are seeking "punitive damages plus costs and attorneys fees."

The Liza’s claim to have "reconstructed their home to install and operate equipment" and also claim that the network benefited from their names, citing "free publicity resulting from media articles and television programs reporting on the premiere of the show." Well, of course they would seek $23 million. Also cited in the court papers is an incident in which Gest was allegedly berated, physically accosted and intimidated by the show’s exec. Yeah, Gest seems like he could be intimidated…right! The Michael Jackson clone definitely looks like a pansy, but he seems to have some pretty big cojones.
