Opera Stars Turn Out for the Marriage of Luciano

Luciano Pavarotti took to a small stage in his home town yesterday to marry his former secretary, seven years and a multi-million-dollar divorce settlement after leaving his first wife.

Wearing a dark suit and Panama hat, the 68-year-old opera star married 33-year-old Nicoletta Mantovani in Modena.

His bride wore a rose-pink Armani off-the-shoulder dress, fellow tenor Andrea Bocelli sang 'Ave Maria', and the couple's 11-month-old baby, Alice, the official host of the event, cried. 'Strange that she cried,' Pavarotti told his guests. 'Alice normally likes music.'

Outside, locals caught a glimpse of guests - who included the singer Bono - rolling up in fur coats on a crisp winter morning.
