Arnold Schwarzenegger was injured in a motorcycle accident Sunday morning and was admitted to St. Johns Hospital in Santa Monica. No details of the accident were released, but Schwarzenegger’s publicist, Jill Eisenstadt, was quoted on E Online as saying, "[Arnold’s] in good spirits, feeling sore, but otherwise fine." He is said to be resting comfortably and set for release late on Monday. He seemed determined that the accident would not keep him from a family Christmas skiing trip in Sun Valley, Idaho.
Austrian-born Schwarzenegger is a three-time Mr. Universe, winning his first Mr. Universe title at the age of 20, and a seven-time Mr. Olympia. He married Maria Shriver in 1986 and they are the proud parents of four children; Katherine, Christina, Patrick and Christopher.
Schwarzenegger, 54, signed a $30 million deal last week to reprise the role of the cyborg that made him famous in the third installment in the Terminator series. T3, subtitled The Rise of the Machines, is rumored to take place a decade after T2. The film’s script is being kept under wraps but it has been reported it will pit a twenty-something John Connor and his cyborg pal – most notable for his penchant for motorcycles, leather and shotguns – against a female Terminatrix. The budget for T3 is expected to be upwards of $170 million –well above the Walt Disney-backed Pearl Harbor, which had a budget of $145 million. Schwarzenegger’s film Collateral Damage was postponed because of the September 11 attacks and is slated to hit theaters in February. His character will be dealing with terrorists in the film.
