Orlimar Golf Names New Chief Financial And Operating Officer
VISTA, CA -- (INTERNET WIRE) -- 11/20/00 -- Orlimar Golf, a top golf club manufacturer that is in the midst of relocating from the San Francisco Bay Area to the heart of the golf equipment industry in North San Diego County, announced today that it has retained R. Grant Brisacher as Chief Financial and Operating Officer (CFO/COO).
Mr. Brisacher has more than 19 years of financial, operational and management experience. With his extensive and diverse background in both private industry and public accounting, Mr. Brisacher is poised to help lead Orlimar in its profitable growth direction.
"Grant's financial, business and management experience, knowledge and integrity make him a very strong addition to our management team," said Bill Kirkendall, Orlimar's President and CEO. "We are currently positioned for exciting growth. As we continue to take actions that will accelerate this growth potential, Grant's precious experiences in working with similar type companies will be a tremendous asset."
Prior to joining Orlimar, Mr. Brisacher was a partner and managing director for McGladrey & Pullen, LLP, which is one of the six largest accounting and consulting firms in the United States. During his tenure with McGladrey, Mr. Brisacher was a member of the Firm's national steering committee for manufacturing and distribution and served as the San Diego office practice leader for manufacturing and distribution. Mr. Kirkendall continued, "Grant's ability to understand the financial aspects combined with his manufacturing and distribution background, make him an excellent fit for our company. In addition, Grant has a good understanding of our business along with the golf industry in general."
Before joining McGladrey, Mr. Brisacher was Vice President/Chief Financial Officer for Football USA, Inc., a sports memorabilia company. Prior to Fotoball, Mr. Brisacher was Vice President of Finance and Administration for a large San Diego franchisee. He began his career in 1982 when he graduated with honors from San Diego State University and began his career with Coopers & Lybrand, predecessor to PriceWaterhouseCoopers.
Earlier this month, Orlimar announced that it is introducing three exclusive new products that will debut in the first quarter of 2001. The products, two series of different drivers and a new set of irons, will be available to consumers in February and March of next year. Orlimar's three new products all represent significant breakthroughs in the highly competitive golf equipment industry.
"Grant comes on board at a crucial time for Orlimar as we are positioned for exciting growth," said Kirkendall. "The Orlimar Scoring Set, which we unveiled this year is a very focused position providing golfers easy-to-hit equipment that increases confidence, resulting in lower scores. We have reinforced our management team with our move to Vista and reinforced our product development efforts. 2001 will be an exciting year for growth."
