Nick Carter Slams Marriage Rumors

Backstreet Boy Nick Carter slammed reports early this week that he was getting ready to marry Chinese actress Bai Ling.

Reportedly, Carter called into a Los Angeles radio talk show to rubbish reports that he was set to marry Ling who is 10-years his senior. Carter, who is currently on tour, called in to Ryan Seacrest’s radio show and said, "We are just friend and I’m dating, but would love to meet a great girl that has her life in order and understands my career goals." The denial came on the heels of a report that Ling allegedly said that she was in love with Carter, 25, and the two were engaged to be married.

Ling supposedly said, "My current boyfriend is a godsend. I didn’t need any reasons to like him and I am willing to do anything for him. We are very romantic. To meet someone like that, I have to give my love to him and I do really love him." Carter’s publicist, Juliette Harris, said in a statement, "A representative from Bai Ling’s camp informed Carter’s rep that she never said the things that were reported. Carter and Ling are just friends and Nick is dating and most recently has been linked with a sexy singer from the Atomic Kittens while on his European tour." Ling and Carter supposedly met in Malaysia at a charity event where Carter got Ling’s number from a friend.

While Carter is on tour, Ling has recently been seen appearing on VH-1’s But Can They Sing? She joins a cast of eight other celebrities, to use the term loosely, singing, to use the term even more loosely, different songs. Each week the public votes on their favorite and each week another performer is sent packing. The original cast included, Ling, Joe Pantoliano, Kim Alexis, Morgan Fairchild, Antonio Sabato Jr., Carmine Gotti Agnello, Larry Holmes, Michael Copon, and Myrka Dellanos. Ling’s debut song was Madonna’s "Like A Virgin," and featured her writhing on the ground in a red dress painfully warbling the tune. Maybe she was misquoted on her relationship with Nick Carter, but there is no mistaking her lack of musical talent.
