Redemption is a new album from the recently formed band Disguise The Limit (a little play on words…the sky’s the limit). Todd Joos (vocals), Mark Summers (guitar), Jon Pomplin (bass), James Miller (keyboards) and Steve Morris (drums) make up the powerful unit.

When I sat down to write this I had already listened to the album three times. This is the kind of music with an appeal that crosses over into rock and progressive. The clear and crisp melodic rock guitar of Mark Summers features catchy rhythmic hooks that are hard to shake, while the marvelous lead vocals of Todd Joos is an excellent match for all the music this band produces. Jon Pomplin is a familiar name in the world of bass players; he is one of the most respected and sought after men in the business and he shows why. James Millers’ keyboard fills in the gaps nicely and adds that prog texture to their sound. Pomplin’s battery mate Steve Morris, has a way of pounding those skins just right; he can rock when called upon or play a less intense and softer style allowing the other instruments take a bow.

The lyrics are cutting edge and to the point, "News At Nine" being the most affecting. Joos sings-Story of destruction/It’s on the news at nine/Madmen killing children/Will make the news at nine. "Part of Me" is a tremendous track musically and lyrically. The first line "The rain is pouring inside my soul" is brilliant, what a great way to start a song. "Read Between The Lines" another outstanding track, goes through many transitions, showing how this well-oiled musical machine operates. It kicks off the track with sharp guitar licks then goes into a funky organ that sounds like horns you would hear on Bruce Springsteen and E Street Band album. Those are but a few of the highlights on an album that offers an endless array of fine musicianship and thought provoking lyrics. There is not dud on this CD.

This is a great band with a refreshing no bullshit approach and sound. What you get form Disguise The Limit is straight up rock ‘n’ roll with no filler. People that love good rock music with a melodic classic rock sound and hints of progressive will surely enjoy this CD.
