Tom Cruise Drops Sister

Tom Cruise has reportedly kicked his sister and publicist, Lee Anne DeVette, to the curb and has now signed with publicist Paul Bloch.

Since hiring his sister to take over his PR duties in March 2004, Cruise’s popularity has taken a nosedive. He has become even more outspoken about his Scientology beliefs and has taken to spouting off about those beliefs and generally acting strangely. Last month it was reported that Holmes had dropped her publicist of nine-years to sign with her future sister-in-law. No doubt now that Cruise has hired Bloch "Kate" will surely follow his lead. DeVette will now head up Cruise’s charitable work.

Cruise really went off the deep end when he began dating his now pregnant fiancée Katie Holmes. His couch-jumping antics on Oprah left many people scratching their heads that the usually calm, cool, and collected Cruise was acting like a lovesick school boy. As their romance has continued the couple has spent most of their time batting their eyelashes at one another, denying rumors that their love is a sham, and gushing about each another. Holmes has suddenly lost any kind of vocabulary she had, referring to Cruise as "amazing," "wonderful," and "the man of my dreams."

Cruise also caused a stir when he spoke out against his former friend using anti-depressants to help cope with post-partum depression following the birth of her first child. He claimed she only needed vitamins and exercise. Shields hit back saying that Cruise’s "ridiculous rant" had done a "disservice to mothers everywhere." When questioned about the spat on the Today show, Cruise called Matt Lauer "glib" prompting an on-air spat between the two. It has been reported that Cruise has slipped from the 11th most liked celeb to #197. Ouch – that hurts! Who knows, maybe Bloch can turn things around and keep Cruise in check.
