Casper Van Dien & Catherine Oxenberg Brawl

Starship Troopers actor Casper Van Dien was reportedly arrested for spousal battery against actress-wife Catherine Oxenberg on October 9 in Los Angeles. Van Dien reportedly began undergoing treatment for sex addiction after he admitted to cheating on Oxenberg last year before their daughter, Maya, was born. Oxenberg threw him out, but agreed to take him back if he sought treatment. Van Dien reportedly called his ex-wife Carrie Mitchum for phone sex, while on location last May and while still undergoing treatment. Oxenberg was reportedly furious when she found out and the tension in the house has been mounting.

An incident recently occurred where Oxenberg threatened to divorce Van Dien, who then became angry, grabbed their one-year old daughter from Oxenberg and began walking away. It was reported that Oxenberg began hitting Van Dien in the back with her fists before Van Dien turned and grabbed Oxenberg by the throat. He proceeded to throw her against the wall and began choking her. Oxenberg then punched Van Dien and he fell backwards still holding their daughter. Police were called to the scene and Van Dien was arrested after Oxenberg complained of head pain.

This is not the first time Van Dien has been arrested for spousal abuse. He was arrested and convicted of a "drunken assault" on his then pregnant first wife. He was sentenced to two years probation and counseling. The couple got back together and had a second child, but sources say Van Dien’s "womanizing" was the major cause for their divorce. If the rumors are true, it seems Casper hasn’t changed much and Oxenberg needs to decide what kind of man she wants in her life.
