Liza Minelli and David Gest Reality Show Cancelled

Liza and David has been canceled, reportedly due to David Gest’s controlling nature. A source has said, "David Gest redefines the term ‘control freak.’ He was almost insane." Sources say that Gest is a neat freak who demanded camera crews to wear hospital booties while in their home. Only one episode of the series was completed before the network contacted Gest’s lawyer, citing breach of contract and declaring the show a no-go. We will not be treated to a viewing of the only Liza and David? Damn!

Liza and David was to be "a personal, private look at celebrities in a new and exciting way." Gest promised that that while they "love the Osbournes…it's not The Osbournes." The show was to have been centered around dinner parties the couple were throwing, with possible glimpses of their rich and famous friends. Minelli said in a press conference, "I won’t let anybody into the bedroom or the bathroom." Well, apparently, Gest isn’t letting anyone into their home. He reportedly canceled production approximately 20 times and had a bodyguard placed outside to keep production crews out.

Sources say Minelli was into the show and would come out ready to shoot but Gest wouldn’t let her. The source has said that Gest is the reason behind the show never getting off the ground, not Liza. Thankfully someone pulled the plug on this show. As if we really need another celebrity reality show! Do these people really want to invite others into their home to scrutinize their lifestyle and habits? Many are under the assumption that the marriage is a sham and Gest is really gay – suggesting that his struggles with his sexuality were destined to sabotage the show from the beginning. Or, it may just be that some personal privacy proved more valuable than a multi-million dollar reality TV contract.
