Tom Cruise Slammed

Officials at the American College of Radiology (ACR) are concerned that Cruise has purchased a sonogram machine to track their unborn child’s progress. It is reportedly illegal if Cruise is running the scans himself. Dr. Carol M. Rumrack, of the ACR Ultrasound Commission, said, "This is a patient safety issue. Untrained people, even if they have the financial means, should not buy, or be allowed to buy and operate ultrasound machines, which are in fact, medical devices and should not be used without a medical indication."

Cruise shocked fans when he admitted during an interview with Barbara Walters that he had purchased the machine and that they were going to donate it to a hospital when they were done with it. Rumrack went on to say, "The ACR is concerned that Tom Cruise has been badly advised regarding the use and potential abuse of ultrasound. There are many abnormalities that may be missed by the untrained eye. Also, if it is not medically necessary, the use of ultrasound raises unnecessary physical risk to the fetus." And its just plain weird…what do they do at night? Pop some popcorn and fire up the old sonogram machine?

Cruise has two adopted children with ex-wife Nicole Kidman, but this is his first biological child and he is reportedly very excited for the arrival of the little bundle of joy. Cruise said he is determined to be "hands-on" dad. Said Cruise, "It’s very exciting. Changing diapers, being there and having all that whole experience. I can’t wait!"
