NCAA: Not SO Fast Penn State

The second most meaningless thing in sports is a college basketball win in late November or early December. Still, Penn State's hot-shooting stunner in Rupp Arena this past Saturday night was the type that warmed the soul of long frustrated Penn State hoop fans.

Still, Penn State's hot-shooting stunner in Rupp Arena this past Saturday night was the type that warmed the soul of long frustrated Penn State hoop fans.

While yes this is a very good win for the program it should be put into perspective though. If you take the points that the Crispen brothers scored out of the mix the team only scored 16 points total. And, the team only got two points from the bench.

Don't overlook the fact that they were mightily out rebound by the Wildcats. Penn State tallest player Scott Witkowsky is nothing but a stiff and the only numbers that appeared in the box score were two personal fouls.

This might be the biggest win in the program’s history but let's also realize that this UK team is very young and will get better as the season goes on. Penn State still has a lot prove and establish. As a Lion fan, I must admit that I very worried as to what would happen if the Crispen’s have an off night. Who will score? I have no idea.

And when the Big Ten Season starts, who will be the presence on the boards? I have no idea. So let's not send PSU to the Final Four yet for heaven’s sake. It is still November.
