Success is ....

Sincerity • Personal integrity • Humility • Courtesy • Wisdom • Charity
Business is becoming more and more akin to intellectual sumo wrestling. Business success is based ever more directly and speedily on the abilities of the people in the business to change, foresee trends, take acceptable risks, be more in tune with tomorrow’s needs of today’s customers and to set their stalls out for the myriad economic and social changes which are occurring. To seize advantage in these ways is not a matter of brute force, but one of finely honed intelligence, coupled with genuine qualities of character and a continuous dedication to staying ahead in the race. Said John Harvey Jones.

Success. A mantra for every one to live a life, a long journey of a life and being exploited every second. According t Dr. William Memmomger, there are six qualities as keys to success:

Sincerity
Personal integrity
Humility
Courtesy
Wisdom
Charity

There are two forms of Success: External or Internal.

Externally, it is the measure of a job well done and the accompanying recognition from society. Most of us believe that success means money, publicity and respects. However Dr. O.A. Battista differentiated opinions about success " You have reached the pinnacle of success as soon as you become uninterested in money, publicity and compliments."

Internally, it is a feeling of achievement, satisfaction and fullness that comes on the completion of a task or the fulfillment of a desire.

Success should include or embrace all aspects of our life.

Ralph defines success in "What is success" as:

To laugh often and much;
To win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children;
To earn the appreciation of honest critics and endure the betrayal of false friends;
To appreciate beauty;
To find the best in others;
To leave the world a bit better, whether by a healthy child, a garden patch or a redeemed social condition;
To know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived;
This is to have succeeded.

Well I have nothing to comment further. Everything is said.

Few of us are leaders in our fields but fail in family life. Opposite to that few of us are good in family but unable to put in society

Are you a successful person?

Single minded and determined
Form of drive: if you want then you will get it
Form of ruthless: Let nothing stand between you and your goal
Form of purpose: Know exactly where you want to go and get there
Form of determination and persistence: Accept failure only as step on the path to success.
(Edward Bono: Tactics - The art and science of success)

Why do you look for it?

Fame, pinnacle, perfection, completeness, inner joy and a great feeling of achievement
We like to behave as great warrior. Winning everything in a world.

Nothing is left from criticism. Chegla warns against great thirst of success, " Alcohol may be bad for bodily health - success can poison and corrode the soul." On similar line, J Vaswani wrote. " Man has discovered that pleasure leads to pain, riches vanish, Fame is fleeting and success is an illusion."

If we understand all its connotations, our success will not be dependent on anyone's failure or be gained by pulling someone down. Our joy will not depend on the other's sorrow. We will be compassionate in the suffering of others and experience true joy in their happiness.

Geet Sethi wants us to realize true meaning of success and joy. He said, " Many a lifetime is spent in frustration, because most equate success with joy. But mere fame and money do not bring joy. Joy emanates from our own actions, from what one feels deep down inside. Success is a social concept measured by fame, money and power - don't fall into the trap. Success is said to be the consequence of certain actions, a result. The cause of the result called success is termed 'pure action' by Swami Parthasarathy in The Vedanta Treatise."

However I do not wish to persist for it. Success is always causing for growth. Be positive for it. But never get hook off in case of failure.

Try and Try Again
