The previous holiday record holder, >Toy Story, grossed $80.1 million in the opening weekend. In the ten-day run of >Potter, the film has already grossed about $190 million.
It has been reported that the author, J.K. Rowling, is about to become the world’s first billionaire writer. According to pagesix.com, the Harry Potter creator is already "worth more than the $994 million >Batman franchise and is steadily growing." Not bad for a single mother who was trying to make ends meet when she began writing the phenomenal story of a young orphan boy who learns he is a wizard.
