Is Outside Noise Disturbing Your Guests?
New products help hotel / motel owners and managers address the noise concerns of their guests.
Until now, inquiries from hotel / motel owners and managers for practical solutions to noise reduction have gone unanswered. Their business and leisure travelers certainly expect a quiet stay as paying guests, but that respite can quickly deteriorate when unwanted external noise is permitted to penetrate the walls, ceilings and doors of the guest rooms.
Outside noise from vehicular traffic on nearby roads and highways, airplanes taking off and landing, idling truck engines, HVAC machinery and trash collection can dash any hope of a restful stay. Inside noise factors that are also disturbing are: a room's proximity to elevators, mechanical equipment rooms, vending machines, public areas and other adjoining rooms.
QuietDoor™ and QuietBarrier™ are two new products developed by American Micro Industries, Inc., in response to the above inquiries that, are cost effective and easy-to-install. The base material in both products is a special vinyl barrier sheeting infused with heavy minerals. This combination virtually stops sound from entering protected spaces such as guest rooms. It will also stop unwanted sounds from leaving noise generating spaces like mechanical equipment rooms. Think of this material as a sheet of lead, only more effective, less expensive, easier to handle and non-hazardous.
QuietDoor™ is a door size composite sheet of three materials designed for maximum reduction of noise transmission and ease of installation. These 5/8" thick sheets are pre-cut to 36" wide X 80" high. Custom sizes are also available. A full sized sheet of pressure sensitive adhesive (PSA) on the composite permits quick and easy installation.
Applications for QuietDoor™ include adjoining hotel room doors as well as doors to restaurant kitchens, vending rooms, equipment rooms, laundry facilities, mechanical rooms, exercise rooms, boiler and mechanical rooms, elevator machinery rooms, plus doors to common and entertainment areas.
QuietDoor™ is easily installed on any door without tools or special skills. The pressure sensitive adhesive will bond directly to the door, providing an immediate soundproofing solution that takes only a few minutes to install. A key feature of QuietDoor™ is that there is no messy adhesive or unpleasant odor to deal with.
QuietBarrier™ is another hotel / motel soundproofing product developed by American Micro Industries, Inc. that addresses room soundproofing. This product is applied directly to walls between rooms or between the noise source and the affected rooms. It is made of a fire rated 2 pound per square foot Mass Loaded Vinyl Barrier (MLVB). Applications for QuietBarrier™ include guest rooms, kitchens, pool rooms, mechanical rooms, vending and common areas, banquet and meeting rooms, bars and lounges or walls common with elevator shafts.
QuietBarrier™ is easily installed during hotel / motel construction or renovation. For new construction projects, QuietBarrier™ is installed between the framing and finished drywall. For room renovations, existing drywall can be left in place, then QuietBarrier™ nailed over the existing drywall, with a second layer of drywall added for finishing.
The use of both QuietDoor™ and QuietBarrier™ will provide your guests with a more restful stay. Both products are cost effective for the budget minded hotel / motel manager or owner and are available directly from American Micro Industries, Inc. Managers or owners seeking more information or wishing to place an order can call 800-558-2058 toll-free, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM, ET.
