Chelsea Owner's Parrot to Do Bird Over Flu Fears
An exotic parrot belonging to Chelsea football club owner Roman Abramovich will have to be caged and tested for bird flu and other diseases when the Russian's super-yacht visits New Zealand next month.
Quarantine officials fear that the African grey parrot on board the £60m cruiser, Le Grand Bleu, could potentially be carrying various diseases, including up to 15 strains of avian flu.
Mr Abramovich, who is estimated to be worth more than £7.5bn, will have to foot the bill for a series of tests on the bird, which is dubbed the "Cadillac of parrots" thanks to its gift of speech.
