Richie claims the "pressures of show business" is behind his daughter’s incredibly shrinking dress size. Said Richie, "I know what’s happening with her right now, she’s a nervous wreck. She’s like her father, you can either blow up or you can shrink away. And right now, she’s just feeling a little bit of the pressure of her new business. So in this case…she will be alright." He added, "Dad is on the case."
Richie has slimmed down considerably since she first starred on season one of Fox’s The Simple Life. Although, she has maintained that she has always been thin and was going through a heavier stage during season one of the show when the viewing public really got to know her. She has continuously denied reports of an eating disorder. She spoke about rumors of an eating disorder in a recent interview saying, "Nothing people say really bothers me, but that bothers me because I wouldn’t want someone younger than me, someone who looks up to me, to believe it."
Richie’s career has really started blooming over the past year. She released her first novel titled The Truth About Diamonds. The book is described as a "no-holds barred look at Hollywood’s new elite, behind the velvet ropes, inside star-studded premiers and parties." She also had her first feature film role in the movie Kids in America. Since her infamous rift with ex-BFF Nicole Hilton, the fourth installment of The Simple Life is on hold. Last month it was announced that FOX was canceling plans for the fourth season, but both Richie and Hilton have alluded to the fact that another network would likely pick up the show. Meanwhile, Richie is preparing for her upcoming marriage to Adam Goldstein a.k.a DJ AM.
