The Vampire Bane

"What's wrong with us?" I only ask this question of late to express my confusion for my, for our predicament...Bloodlust.

Being a vampire or being turned into a vampire is not a conscious happening, and is not something you even realize. I realize certain things of course like the extreme xeroderma pigmentosa (or allergy to the sun) which when struck down my this terrible downfall sees me left as nothing more that a pile of dust. And although my pale skin holds as much strength as a putrefied corpse and can be punctured with a poke of a finger,
the one thing that stands out most is the thing most obvious...bloodlust. See blood is the one thing that I can indulge in like a drug, and yet still have it remain vital to my existence.

And I mean that literally, for the effects of my undead blood bingeing can be likened to that of the most helpless smack or crack addicted lowlife who roam the alley ways. Except it doesn't bring me down, it rejuvenates me, keeps me alert and alive. And in case you are wondering, I am real, and I watch you while you sleep. If you didn't know this already, you do now. And if you never got the chance to know, you have probably been one of my victims. Sleep tight, the scratching on the window really is just a tree.......
