The New Zealand liquor baron Michael Erceg and his passenger, Grolsch International export director Guus Klatte, from Amsterdam, had been missing since November 4 when they left Auckland for Queenstown.

Dozens of private, commercial and rescue helicopters covered thousands of square miles trying to locate the pair. Grolsch was reportedly in talks with Mr Erceg's company, Independent Liquor, to make its beer in New Zealand.
