Colors of Death

No one is safe when gang violence erupts...Dedicated to the memory of all of the lives that have been lost by these types of cowardly acts.
See the swing is sways alone
waiting for a child to come.

Concrete jungle harsh and cold
love is sprinkled to and fro.

Eyes of stone guarding domains
children trapped, they cannot play.

Red and blue are not allowed
basic colors of the killing ground.

Our blood is blue inside our hearts
turning bright red when it departs.

Concrete grey turns bloody when
you break the rules, wearing blue or red.

Terrorism takes on many forms
not only in a desert storm.

Control and fear spew acidic angst
locking doors are commonplace.

Where is the innocence in children's eyes?

Why are families scared and tired?

Red, White and Blue are the colors of our flag...

Wear red or blue...your life may end!

How concerned are you by the increasing gang violence?
I am very concerned
I am slightly concerned
I am not concerned
It's not my problem
