Merry Mayhem Tour: Ozzy Osbourne Breaks A Leg

Ozzy Osbourne suffered a stress fracture and is now forced to reschedule ten of his Merry Mayhem tour dates with Rob Zombie.
According to a statement released Friday, Ozzy Osbourne has suffered a stress fracture and will have to reschedule ten dates of his Merry Mayhem tour. The injury occurred in Tucson, Arizona when he stepped out of a shower before a stop on last week’s scheduled tour. This is not the first time an injury has affected his performances. In 1992, during a farewell tour, he broke four bones in his foot.

Osbourne will miss ten shows, including stops in Houston, Texas; Bossier City, Louisiana; Knoxville, Tennessee; Nashville, Tennessee; Cleveland, Ohio; Cincinnati, Ohio; Birmingham, Alabama; West Palm Beach, Florida; Greensboro, North Carolina and Atlanta, Georgia. There has been no indication as to when the tour dates will be rescheduled. Osbourne is expected to return to the tour on November 29th in North Dakota. His tour will run through December 29th ending in San Diego.

Ozzy, born John Osbourne, began his career as front man for the band Black Sabbath. In 1979, he left Black Sabbath and formed his own band. His debut solo album was Blizzard of Oz and he is most famous for biting the head off a live bat during one of his concerts, an act that led to rabies treatment. Osbourne teamed up with Miss Piggy of The Muppet Show to sing Born to be Wild for a Muppets compilation album. He also lent his voice to a Black Sabbath tribute album, Black Nativity.
