Trouble in Neverland

Michael Jackson is back in the news again, after police converged on his Neverland ranch Tuesday as part of an unspecified criminal investigation.
Santa Barbara County officials confirmed that police investigators converged on Jackson’s Neverland Ranch Tuesday morning as part of an unspecified criminal investigation. Sergeant Chris Pappas of the county sheriff’s office said nearly two dozen officers, accompanied by dog teams, arrived at the ranch at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday to serve the warrant and search the premises. No official word as of yet as to the reason behind the raid, only that it was part of an "ongoing investigation."

There have been reports that the investigation has to do with further allegations of child abuse. Reportedly a 12-year old boy alleged to his therapist that Jackson acted in an inappropriate manner towards him. The boy reportedly entered into therapy after spending time with Jackson. The concerns were brought to the Santa Barbara District Attorney’s office to review, which led to the investigation. Jackson and his children were out of town at the time the warrant was served. Stuart Backerman, Jackson’s publicist, said, "We cannot comment on law enforcement’s investigation because we do not know what it is about." Backerman also issued a statement in which Jackson is quoted as saying; "These characters always seem to surface with a dreadful allegation just as another project, an album, a video, is being released." This seems to be true seeing as how the search warrant was issued on the same day that Jackson’s greatest-hits album, Number Ones, was released.

Jackson admitted during an ABC interview in February that he often shares his bed with the young guests that visit his ranch. What? How can it be that after all the allegations brought against Jackson he would be allowed to have young children spend the night at his home? Where are the parents? If this were some regular Joe Schmo off the street he would’ve been in jail years ago. Funny what fame will get you!
