Mariah Carey & P. Diddy A Couple?

Many are starting to speculate that Carey is latching onto P. Diddy in the hopes that he can turn her career around. Sources say that Carey believes P. Diddy is the only one who can revive her floundering career. An insider says that every time Carey is near P. Diddy, she makes it a point to be "all over him." She wants everyone to see her with him. Her motive is to get a "total music makeover" from Combs. Carey's last big hit was in 1999 with "Heartbreakers" which was a number one hit for two weeks and remained on Billboard magazine's Top 40 chart for 14 weeks. The first single - Through the Rain - from her latest album bombed when it debuted in September.

Mariah has suffered a downward spiral in recent years. She had a much publicized "emotional and physical" breakdown in July 2001 and was admitted into a mental hospital in Connecticut. She suffered a relapse and landed back in the hospital citing mental exhaustion. Once out of the hospital she entered into a fling with Eminem, who has since said "I don't want to say anything disrespectful because I respect her as a singer, but on the whole personal level, I'm not really feeling it. I just don't like her as a person." Eminem has also said, "I have respect for her, but she doesn't really have it together." Ouch! Add to that Virgin Records buying out the remainder of her $80 million contract for a mere $30 million and her disastrous flop of an album and movie - Glitter.

Carey was reportedly so depressed and stressed she turned to food, gained quite a bit of weight and checked into a "fat farm" earlier this year. There is no doubt that Carey has a talented voice, but it seems she uses people to get what she wants. That list starts with Tommy Mottola, who basically made her the star she once was. Now she is using rival Jennifer Lopez’s ex to do for her what he did for Lopez. At least she seems to recognize which people to use. Only time will tell if P. Diddy can resurrect Carey’s floundering career.
