Autumn's End

I live on Washington's Olympic Peninsula up in the Tahuya Forest Lands, beautiful in any season and any weather. But, we experienced record breaking drought this year. Finally, the rains came and the winds blew, trees toppled, and our only road in or out was washed away. BEAUTIFUL to behold!
They reveled in His bathing glory
as God's hand washed eager faces,
His majestic breath drying their tears
from an unaccustomed drought.

And in His breath they began to sway
a rhythmic dance of joyous response,
leafy arms lifting in waves of praise,
their voices singing like rushing rivers.

Leaves and needles whirled and twirled,
rapidly skipped and spun in the air
like a rainbow in motion,
at once myriad color blanketing mother:
another season accomplished.
