Ben Affleck & Jennifer Lopez: Engaged

The couple, who met on the set of their film Gigli, began dating just a few short months ago and has been keeping the paparazzi in business. She tells Sawyer that Affleck is "brilliantly smart, charming and affectionate" and that he proposed in a "traditional, but also in a very spectacular way." She describes Affleck as her "best friend." Umm…hello!! You have only known each other for about five minutes.

J. Lo is not quite divorced from husband number two and yet she has been flaunting her "romance" with Affleck all over town, magazine covers and the airwaves. Lopez’s recent divorce from dancer Cris Judd lasted a mere 8 months and will be finalized on January 26. According to the rumor mill, Ben & J. Lo will be taking a trip down the aisle on February 14 – Valentine’s Day. If J. Lo isn’t careful she is going to run out of white dresses to wear. Lopez was married to model-restaurateur Ojani Noa for about a year, splitting in 1998. With two marriages under her belt, the public should start taking bets on how long Ben can handle being Mr. J. Lo. Will she discard him as easily as she discarded the other two? That is the question on everyone’s minds.

The other question is ‘what are these two doing together?’ They are such an unlikely pair. Lopez addresses that with Sawyer during Wednesday’s interview, saying that although the public sees them each with other people, they are more alike than anyone thinks. And since J. Lo is obviously the relationship expert, she must know all this after such a short courtship. Maybe that is the problem with Hollywood marriages - Before she is even out of one, J. Lo is jumping into another after only a few short months. But, the publicity is there, so what can it hurt??
