Governor’s Son Caught with Pants Down
As the votes in Florida continue to be counted, new information about George W. Bush’s nephew adds more fuel to an already raging fire.
On October 7, exactly one month prior to an election day that is still in the process of resolution, John "Jebby" Bush, son of Florida Governor Jeb Bush and nephew of George W. Bush, was found in a compromising position with a blonde co-ed at a Tallahassee mall. The 16-year old Bush and his 17-year old private-school companion were spotted in the back of Bush’s Jeep Cherokee by a couple of mall security guards, whose attention was drawn by the steamed windows on the vehicle. The security guards contacted Tallahassee Police Sergeant Oscar Brannon, who arrived at the scene and eventually filed a "sexual misconduct" report against the young couple for having sex in public. The report mentions that both teens were "naked from the waist down."
Tallahassee Police spokesman Scott Hunt was quick to point out that neither youngster is likely to face charges as a result of the incident. "They were both underage, but they were both willing participants," he said. Hunt added that neither family was interested in pursuing charges in the case. Hunt also alluded to the fact that Brannon’s filing of the report for such a minor incident was rare and that the report was probably filed to avoid the possibility of any "political fallout" that may have resulted from the officer simply sending the kids on their way.
Luckily for the Bush campaign, the news didn’t make headlines at the time. After news sources discovered that it was the younger Jebby and not his older brother, George P., many chose to pass on the scoop.
