J. Lo (Jennifer Lopez ) and Dancer, Cris Judd, Tie the Knot
Jennifer Lopez and Cris Judd were wed on September 29 in an intimate ceremony at a private mountaintop estate in Calabassas, California.
Lopez and Judd met last November when he was a dancer in her video for Love Don’t Cost a Thing. Although she was still dating her boyfriend of two years, Sean "P. Diddy" Combs, the attraction was there. She later admitted to friends that she liked Judd. In early February, reports that they were an item hit the tabloids. Combs announced on Valentine’s Day that he and Lopez had broken up. In March, Lopez and Judd arrived together at the Oscars. From that moment on, they had a hard time keeping their romance under wraps.
The ceremony was a non-denominational service and was presided over by Barry Hirsch, Lopez’s lawyer. Lopez arranged the nuptials, a very glamorous affair, although completely devoid of celebrities. Family and friends dominated the bridal party. Lopez’s two sisters were bridesmaids and her best friend from the Bronx, Arlene Rodriguez, served as maid of honor. The couple’s first dance was to Stevie Wonder’s Ribbon in the Sky. The salsa- and meringue-mixed music lasted until after 2 a.m.
This is not Lopez’s first trip down the aisle. Her first marriage to Miami waiter Ojani Noa ended in divorce in 1998 after 13 months. This is Judd’s first marriage. Judd, a Niceville, FL native, got his start as a dancer in Disney’s Pleasure Island. Lopez began her career as a Fly Girl on TV’s In Living Color. Friends say Judd has been a calming influence on Lopez after the flashy Combs. She seems more content with staying in rather than club hopping. The happy couple is now vacationing in Lake Como, Italy.
