Preview - New York Knicks
The Knicks made several off season moves, but will it be enough to get them to the top of the eastern conference.
New York Knicks
2000 Record: (48-34), 3rd in Atlantic Division
Player Losses: Glen Rice, Luc Longley
Player Additions: Clarence Witherspoon, Shandon Anderson, Howard Eisley, Michael Wright
Projected Starting Five:
Center - Marcus Camby (6'11" 225 lbs.)
Forward - Clarence Witherspoon - (6'7" 265 lbs.)
Forward - Latrell Sprewell (6'5" 190 lbs.)
Guard - Allan Houston (6'6" 200 lbs.)
Guard - Mark Jackson (6'3" 205 lbs.)
The Knicks made some good off season moves, but it did not elevate them past Philadelphia or Toronto. The additions of Shandon Anderson and Howard Eisley give them more depth at the guard positions. Clarence Witherspoon will take over for Larry Johnson, who may retire, at power forward. Look for the Knicks to make the playoffs and put up a fight before being knocked out in the first round.
