Desert Magic

Have you ever been to the desert at twilight? It's so beautiful.
Desert Magic
Wine stained fingers, trace feathery shadows across the dunes.
Soft susurrations tease the hot evening silence.
The huge molten sun is gently lowered,
it's heat a living thing-
by unseen hands...

Vermillion streaked skies empty,
as the first star peeks through sunset eyes.
Shimmering pellucid heat devils beckon in the distance,
watery, shifting dancers,
in this quiet place.

Slowly, slowly
a quiet midnight curtain lowers,
stroking this fevered earth with a cooling hand.
The moon softly illumines all,
as darkness enfolds this earth,
in its velvet embrace.
