Leandro Aragoncillo: Mole In The White House

It's time to re-examine the hiring practices used in our most sensitive areas.
Leandro Aragoncillo is under investigation for passing sensitive documents from CIA, and the White House to Members wishing to topple the Philippine government. For many years some of us have been aware of the high probability that certain people holding positions of trust are abusing their positions, for political and financial gain.

This case interests me more for the fact that as I stated in my article 9-11: Deception, our own politicians have been doing this for years with the House of Al Saud, and getting away with it. It also points out something that bothers me tremendously. The fact that our Intelligence agencies rely more on a persons creditworthiness and plethora of degrees, rather than in the key area of character. In fact, A US Marshall will lose his job if he runs into credit trouble or faces foreclosure. How does having a degree, or a high credit score guarantee character? A tremendously intelligent man once told me, he puts more faith in his own gut instincts than on any piece of paper. I agree.

Let's face it, at least in California, most major criminals and narcotics dealers live better than your average joe, and.. have better credit scores. They can afford the pricey neighborhoods and better cars. Why? It's fairly obvious: it's all part of keeping a clean public profile. It always tickles me, when I see neighbors expressing shock and dismay that the people next door were high profile thugs.

We need to change the way we hire people charged with protecting our country, or dealing with sensitive information. For starters, maybe a little less emphasis on pedigree and Fair Isaac scores, and a great deal more of character analysis. In the meantime Leon Aragoncillo is the tip of the iceberg here. Well be hearing much more in the coming days about this very nasty piece of business. And maybe the more intelligent amongst us, might begin questioning the judgment of the people who work around opportunists like this.
