Farrah Fawcett’s Back
TV Land has picked up a reality series starring former Charlie’s Angel Farrah Fawcett titled Chasing Farrah.
The six episode series will follow the 70’s pin-up through every day aspects of her life. The show is slated to air January 19. Chasing Farrah will highlight such things as Fawcett, 57, traveling from Hollywood to Miami to New York to Texas with an entourage of managers and publicists. Other episodes will follow Fawcett to the hair salon and to the U.S. Open and there is even an episode when the actress loses her wallet. Sure to be a knee slapper.
President of TV Land and Nick at Nite, Larry W. Jones, said in a statement, "So many of our perceptions of Farrah Fawcett are through the tabloids, quick sound bites on the news and her roles in film and television. TV Land wants to take our viewers into the life of Farrah Fawcett to see what she’s really about, since so few of us know what it’s like to be a recognized Hollywood icon for your entire adult life."
Unfortunately, it just seems a desperate attempt at remaining in the spotlight, like some of her past attempts. Anyone remember naked body painting or the disastrous appearance on Late Night with David Letterman when Fawcett appeared dazed and confused? Who knows…maybe we will be pleasantly surprised and see a different side of Farrah than we have ever seen? Or maybe it will be more like the train wreck of watching Anna Nicole Smith’s reality show. The question is, do producers think certain people make for better reality or are the people that get their own shows the only ones willing to do it? Whatever the case, it should be interesting. Maybe she’ll even have Letterman over for tea and cookies.
