I just want to watch the baseball playoffs

It is that time of year for baseball fans. The playoffs are fun and exciting to watch. However, ESPN and FOX seem to think that putting their games on ESPN2 brings higher ratings. Does it?
ESPN made some really questionable decisions in the past week.

Hiring Rush Limbaugh to give his opinion on football was something they knew would bring higher ratings because of his loyal followers and his mouth.

Well, the ratings were up with him on the show. So, then he states his controversial opinion, and they fire him. Why? They knew what they were getting from the start.

However, what is worse in my mind, is that ESPN decided to show several baseball playoff games on ESPN2 instead of ESPN or giving them to Fox.

Maybe I'm just one unlucky guy whose cable package does not include ESPN2. If so, excuse my ranting.

Yes, I know, I should get a dish or quit being so cheap and get a better cable package. However, this is the situation I am in as of now.

If you don't have ESPN2, you might just think that the Boston Red Sox and the Oakland Athletics are waiting to play their second game. Or, that the San Francisco Giants will probably beat the Florida Marlins after having won that first game at home with Jason Schmidt pitching a great game.

Well, you would be wrong.

I can't figure out why the first round of this late season golf tournament is more important than a playoff game in Major League Baseball. I like golf, but the first round of a tournament in October should be on the Deuce and not on ESPN.

Having a wild card team was supposed to add more excitement to the game of baseball in the post season.

Well, if you have all the cable channels, I guess it does. Otherwise, it leaves you wondering what you are missing not being able to watch two of the other series.

Instead of having the A's vs. the Red Sox on at prime time on Saturday night, Fox decides that "Cops" and "America's Most Wanted" is better for their ratings.

Maybe it is, I don't know. But why did they bid for the baseball playoffs in the first place if their shows were so good?

Why did they make me watch "Trading Spaces" with my wife instead of a good playoff baseball game?

I mean, you can watch baseball games almost every day during the year on a regular cable television package, but when it counts the most, I have to watch the news or read the paper to find out all the fantastic plays I missed.

Thanks ESPN and Fox.

Maybe I am alone in my criticizing. Maybe I just watch too much sports on television as my wife says, or maybe people just don't care about baseball anymore to give it good enough ratings on Fox or ESPN.

In any case, I still think that the games should be on network channels that can be accessible by the most television watchers.

I just want to watch the playoffs without getting a "dish" or paying $70 for a cable package where I would be able to get ESPN2.

I should not have to watch old movies, "chick shows," or "trailer park trash" programs when a MLB playoff game is being played.
