Active Family Means Laundry Challenges

Remember those lazy days of summer? Well, they're gone.

It's fall: back to the hectic schedule of classes, homework, sports and all of the activities most families juggle.

All that running around will probably mean that unless you've found a way to laminate your family's clothes, you will find dirt and stains from the playground, the cafeteria, the soccer game or remnants of the science project on nearly everything.

But there is help, even if there isn't a lot of time to spend on the laundry. The entire line of Spray 'N Wash Laundry Stain Remover products can eliminate many of the toughest stains families face every day. They are also safe for all colorfast fabrics and work in all water temperatures.

For most stains, the Spray 'N Wash trigger spray, applied just before laundering, works beautifully to remove stains and keep clothes looking new. Refills are available to keep the family budget under control and to make sure there's always enough on hand for the next big stain. For those who want pinpoint control, a push-pull nozzle allows you to apply Spray 'N Wash exactly where it is needed to remove tough stains.

Busy families also find that the Spray 'N Wash Stain Stick is a convenient way to treat stains even when the laundry may have to wait. The stick can be applied to stains up to seven days before laundering, which makes it great for travel or for instances when your kids forget that it's their turn to do the laundry.

By following these tips for stain removal, you can extend the life of your clothes and keep them looking great. For all stains, treatment is always easiest when the stain is fresh. Always read and follow the care instructions and any warnings on the garment's label.

For greasy stains such as butter, cooking oil or mayonnaise:

Treat light stains with a pre-treatment spray, such as Spray 'N Wash, and then launder as usual.

If the stain remains, rub with a heavy-duty laundry detergent, and then launder following directions.

For pencil marks:

Using a clean, soft eraser, gently erase the mark. If the stain persists, rub in a few drops of ammonia, rinse and apply Spray 'N Wash liquid or Stain Stick. Rinse well.

For candle wax or crayons:

Using the dull edge of a knife, scrape off as much of the hardened wax as possible. Place the stained area between two paper towels and iron on a low to medium setting, replacing the towels as they become soiled. Apply Spray 'N Wash to the stain and launder.

For ink:

Place a paper towel underneath the stain and blot with a clean cloth treated with aerosol hairspray or rubbing alcohol. Rinse, treat with Spray 'N Wash and launder.

For blood:

If the stain is dry, remove blood with a dull knife and treat with Spray 'N Wash. If the stain is fresh, soak in cold water, treat with Spray 'N Wash and launder immediately.

For fruit juice, wine or soft drinks:

Soak for 30 minutes in cold water. Remove and rub Spray 'N Wash liquid into stain and launder as usual. For red wine, treat the well-soaked area with salt, gently working it into the stain. Rinse and launder.

For cosmetics or lipstick:

Place the stain face-down on paper towels and wet from behind. Gently treat with Spray 'N Wash and launder as usual.
