NBA: Tension Mounts Between Sixers and Iverson

Allen Iverson is one of the most-feared players in the league, both on and off the court. Can his team deal with his antics for another season?

If you think about it, the Philadelphia 76ers are in an interesting paradox. They sit with one of the most talented players in the league with Allen Iverson, but may not be able to exist with him.

Iverson is one of the top ten players in the game talent-wise, with the only knock on him being all the shots he takes. He continually puts points on the board for the Sixers, and they wouldn't not be half the offensive team without him.

Although, what looms large is his off-the-court behavior. Sure he scores 30 points a game, but what does that matter when he's constantly late for practice and can't get along with the coach? This, despite Iverson says he has no problems with the coach.

In order for Iverson to be one of the top stars in the league, he needs to realize his time is now and he has to get serious about showing up for practice on time, respecting his coach, and taking high-percentage shots. If this doesn't happen, the situation in Philly isn't going to improve.
