Prince Harry Hits the Pub

Following closely in his older brother’s footsteps, Prince Harry ventured to one of England’s trendiest pubs to celebrate his sixteenth birthday.
As the public outcry against underage drinking continues to rage on in the U.S., one of the most famous teenagers in the world was more than content to celebrate his coming of age at a popular pub in Chelsea, England. Although not yet of legal British drinking age (18 years old), Prince Harry did not shy away from the opportunity to entertain a small gathering of young female friends at the adult establishment. English law allows sixteen-year-olds to enter pubs without the accompaniment of an adult.

Witnesses say the young prince resisted what must have been a great temptation to indulge in an alcoholic beverage and instead chose to drink Red Bull, a popular energy drink among teens. His female companions were not quite as conservative, as they helped themselves to a few rounds of Pimm’s – a mildly alcoholic punch. As always, the young royal was on his best behavior, even quipping to the chef about having his grandmother (the Queen) stop by for lunch sometime.

As Prince William, Harry’s older brother, begins to establish himself as an international heartthrob, it is interesting that Harry chose to be accompanied by a group consisting of primarily young women. Although Prince Harry is certain to one day claim his status as one of the most eligible bachelors in the world, there is no doubt that he already holds the title of "the most envied 16-year-old on the planet."
