Kate Moss’ Support

Sharon Stone has stepped up and publicly backed supermodel Kate Moss after her recent cocaine scandal, which led to her rehab stay.

Last month pictures of Moss turned up in a number of tabloids showing her using cocaine, which she later admitted. Moss lost a number of lucrative modeling contracts and has ended up in an Arizona rehab facility. Other celebs have slammed Moss for her actions, but Sharon Stone has come to her defense. Stone said, "I’d like to say as for Kate Moss, I understand that she has apologized and is changing her life. And I think that that is the most important thing that has happened. I think that we have to be aware that people are allowed to make mistakes in their life. Whether or not a fashion house stands with her or not through it says more about the house than it does her." No doubt the likes of Chanel and Burberry won’t be asking Stone to represent their companies either.

Moss has received support from others as well. Naomi Campbell said, "Kate Moss is my friend. I think it’s like everyone is being bad to her. It’s not the first time it has happened in the world. It’s really like a vendetta." Moss’ gal pal Sadie Frost has come forward to offer her support for the troubled model. Sources say that Kate and Sadie’s relationship cooled recently, but Frost said, "She’s obviously still a good friend and I feel for her. My thoughts are with her and I’m glad she’s concentrating on getting better."

It has been rumored that close friends of the supermodel fear that she may kill herself over the scandal. With the lost contracts and public humiliation, friends say Moss is "cracking under the pressure." Said a friend, "It is really quite frightening. There is a chance this whole thing could end in tragedy. Some of us are even worried she could kill herself." Sources say that she really fears losing her drug-addicted boyfriend Pete Doherty, but knows she must stay away from him if she ever wants to kick her drug habit. Maybe a 30-day stint in rehab will help Kate clear her head and stop following Doherty down his personal path of self-destruction.
