NFL: Fantasy Football Week Six
Who are the players that will play big, and other players that you should pickup in your fantasy football leagues? Zack Cimini tells you that and more.
Isn’t it strange at how fast the NFL season can go? It is already almost half way done and it doesn’t even feel like it has started. Usually at this point in the year you would already have a good feel for the teams that are going to contend for the Super Bowl. This year is different though, and it will be a very interesting playoffs. As we enter week six here are some players to think about picking up in your fantasy football leagues, and also players that should produce for week six.
Players To Pickup
Traivs Prentice: The Browns running game isn’t anything to get excited about, but Prentice is a solid running back. Now that Rhett is done for the season, Prentice will get the spotlight in Cleveland.
Troy Brown: Bledsoe has favored Brown for many years, and now Brown is finally in the starting lineup of the Patriots. Brown put up huge numbers last week and I would expect more big numbers from Brown as the year goes on.
Erron Kinney: Tennessee uses their two tight end system very well. Kinney has started to take a lot more catches and yards away from Wycheck, and he is the future of this team at tight end. Wycheck has a strong injury past, and if he does get hurt Kinney will have a great chance at being a quality fantasy football tight end.
Chris Fu'amata Ma'afala: Ma'afala has played great the whole year, and it's only a matter of time before Bettis gets hurt.
Week Six
Quarterbacks:
Brian Griese: Take a look at all the quarterbacks that have had great games against the Chargers this year, and you’ll see that every quarterback has. So it shouldn’t be a problem for Brian Griese, because he has had a phenomenal year so far. With Kurt Warner on a bye, it wouldn’t be shocking to see Griese put up the best stats this week at quarterback.
Charlie Batch: Batch has started to come on, and his preseason is over. Green Bay has been torn a part in the secondary all year long, and with Detroit’s receivers Batch should have an excellent day.
Running Backs:
Ricky Watters: Many people doubted Ricky Watters for this year, but quietly Watters is having a great year. With Brock Huard getting the start, Watters will get a lot of carries for the Seahawks. Carolina’s defense has given up a lot of rushing yards against everyone this season, so expect Watters to have a great game.
Michael Pittman: The Cardinals finally made the right move and named Michael Pittman the starter ahead of Thomas Jones. Pittman has looked great running the football in minimal action, and going against the Cleveland Browns should lead to a huge day for Pittman. If Pittman is still available in your league you better pick him up.
Wide Receivers
Amani Toomer: Toomer has yet to have a great game this year, and I think this may be the week that he breaks out. The Falcons have very aggressive cornerbacks, and Toomer should be able to beat them on a big play or two. If Toomer is being double covered, than look for Ike Hilliard to have the big day.
Troy Brown: The Patriots are always throwing the football because of their horrible running game. Against the Colts the Patriots are going to need to put up a lot of points, and they should be able to against the Colts secondary. Look for Troy Brown to have a big day for the second straight week.
