FANTASY: Early Edition Week 10

The Early Edition covers an important topic in Fantasy Football and the injury report from Week 9.
Early Edition Week 10

When you have two or three players that are similar in skills there are a few tricks you can use to determine the correct player to play. So without further ado:

Who to Play As everyone finds out throughout a fantasy football season, one or two games will in veritably be won by 5 points or less. With this being said, you as the fantasy owner need to pick your starters carefully. Often beyond your top one or two players at each position, you are trying to decide between players with equal skill. Here are a few hints that will help you to choose the best starting lineup week in and week out:

1. Always consider the defense they are going against. For instance, lets say you are trying to decide between Terrance Wilkins and Sean Dawkins. If Wilkins is going against Buffalo and Dawkins is going against San Diego you will want to lean towards Dawkins.

2. Consider the offense they play on. Az Hakim who is the 3rd receiver on the Rams, in my opinion is a better fantasy option then Hines Ward, Peter Warrick, Kevin Johnson, and Curtis Conway who are the #1 WR’s on their respective teams.

3. Look at the history the player has against that team. This is especially important for conference games. In the second half of the season teams are playing their conference opponents for the second time. Take a look back and see how effective they were in these games.

This is one of the reasons I supply the season stats in my Mid-Week Edition. Take a look at how the other teams defense is playing the run and pass. Instinct is good in Fantasy Football, but having all the facts and history is even better.
