Jessica Simpson & Nick Lachey Tie the Knot

A wedding four years in the making and the wedding night must have been hotter than 98 Degrees. The happy couple met in 1999 when Simpson toured with Lachey’s group, 98 Degrees. Lachey has said that the first time he heard Simpson sing he "got chills" and told his bandmates, "I’m going to marry that girl one day."

The couple dated until spring 2001 when they decided to "take a break." Rumors were abound that while Simpson remained a virgin, Lachey got his kicks on the side. If there is any truth to the rumors, Simpson found out and called it quits. She said she wanted to focus on her career and some said that he wanted to focus on other women. After six-months apart the couple reunited crediting the events of September 11. Simpson has since said that after September 11, she knew that she didn’t want to be away from Nick.

Whatever brought the change, they have weathered the media storm surrounding most couples in the spotlight. Even with the brief split, they have lasted longer than another famous boy-bander and his pretty pop princess. With the wave of "self-proclaimed virgins" Simpson seems to be the only who has stuck to her beliefs. Now that is just speculation, but you never know. The couple is 7 years apart in age, and Simpson has said that Lachey wanted to give her time to grow up, which she claims she has. Guess all the waiting finally paid off…
