Jaromir Jagr -- Capital problems

Pity "poor" Jaromir Jagr of the Washington Capitals. He's making megabucks doing nothing with the Capitals and now he's all alone in Washington D.C. What's a young, single, rich, hockey player suppose to do with himself?
Hockey season isn't even at the halfway point of the 2003-2004 season and once again it looks like the folks in Capitals country aren't going to see another Stanley Cup playoff come their way this April.

To make matters worse, their lone "star," Jaromir Jagr is one unhappy dude, and rumor has it he may be traded to the New York Rangers.

Jagr says if there is a lockout, he might go to Russia to play, and with the way he is playing, there are a few Capitals' fans who would gladly pay for his one way ticket to Russia!

Jagr has even had disagreements with his coach Bruce Cassidy.

What is Jagr's problem?

He was once one of the future stars in the NHL, but that was when he was with the Pittsburgh Penguins and had Mario Lemieux feeding him the puck. There he the "big man" in town. Now who does he have?

He could get those passes from Peter Bondra or how about from newly acquired Capital, Bates Battaglia, but that's not the same thing.

His problems on the ice could be related to his problems off the ice.

Jagr, who always had his mother from the Czech Republic living with him, doesn't have her anymore. She returned to Prague.

And what about Jagr's love life?

He broke up with his former girlfriend, a former Miss Slovakia, which is not big news here in the states, but big news back home in the Czech Republic. You know, kind of Sergei (Federov) and Miz Anna Kournikova.)

Jagr's teammates say he's not as bubbly as he once was.

I guess breaking up with the former Miss Slovakia can do that to you.

Jagr's problems almost make you feel sorry for the poor guy.

Yeah, right. He's paid big bucks to put some pucks in the net for the Capitals, yet since he's been with the team, the MCI Center stinks worse than any New Jersey landfill.

All I can say is -- sometime life's tough, Jaromir. You aren't Mario Junior anymore. You're a veteran in the NHL. Stop acting like a brat and suck it up.

You say you're lonely, buy a dog for heaven's sake! With the money you have, you should also be able to find a new girlfriend. I'm sure the Washington D.C area has plenty of Miss Slovakia's roaming around, not to mention some Miss USA's too.

Yeah, the Capital problems of one Jaromir Jagr almost make you feel sorry for the poor boy -- almost.
