Do you?

It was written to my brother…
Do you see my eyes turn lifeless as yours?
Do you hear this heartbeat upon my chest nevermore?
Do you feel my hand slipping away from your grip?
Do you no longer see my breath on my lips?

Sing me a lullaby, my sweet, as I slumber,
No longer I awake, no more with this life,
My task is done, as I watch from above,
As you sit there and weep on my lifeless, cold body,

Did you ever really love me, did you really even care,
Before I took my last breath and gave up on this fight,
I struggled for you, and fight demons to live...
You turned and walked away when I needed you the most,

Upon my will, I made you one of my pallbearers,
Do you have the guts to grant this wish of mine,
Or will you be a coward and watch someone do it for you,
And watch them put your sister's casket into the ground,

Always "remember", that bond that we had,
Within your eyes I was your best friend, and in mine you were too,
Bittersweet memories come flooding with my death,
Do you even remember this soul who died for you?
