Preview - Los Angeles Lakers
Will anyone be able to stop the Lakers from three-peating as NBA Champions?
Los Angeles Lakers
2000 Record: (57-25), NBA Champions
Player Losses: Tyronn Lue, Horace Grant, Isiah Rider, Greg Foster
Player Additions: Mitch Richmond, Lindsey Hunter, Samaki Walker, Jelani McCoy
Projected Starting Five:
Center - Shaquille O'Neal (7'1" 315 lbs.)
Forward - Samaki Walker (6'9" 260 lbs.)
Forward - Rick Fox (6'7" 240 lbs.)
Guard - Kobe Bryant (6'7" 210 lbs.)
Guard - Derek Fisher (6'1" 200 lbs.)
Derek Fisher's injury will keep him out for awhile, so either Lindsey Hunter or Brian Shaw will start in his place. The addition of Mitch Richmond gives the Lakers a player who can hit the three-pointer when Shaq is forced to pass it out. Samaki Walker will replace Horace Grant, who left to sign with Orlando, at power forward. We will also see if any Shaq vs. Kobe fights occur again as they have for the last two years. The Lakers are the only thing that can stop them from winning another championship, but they will need to be ready for a fight from San Antonio and Sacramento.
