Future of kids depends on their names!

Future of kids depends on their names!
Shakespeare may have doubted the significance of a person’s name when he asked `What’s in a name`, but he couldn’t change the mentality of a majority of parents who think that if they name their baby Lucky or Prince, he or she is going to be like that only.

A new survey by BabyCenter.com, the leading online resource for new and expectant parents, shows that 52 per cent expectant parents believe name greatly contributes greatly to their child’s future success, and therefore, they want to get it right.

"Naming a child is an exciting milestone of new parenthood, so we were curious to understand what factors influence parents today," female first quoted BabyCenter executive editor Linda Murray as saying.

Murray said that parents are seeking advantages for their little ones earlier and earlier in life, be it securing a place at the best nursery in the area or eating organic foods during pregnancy.

Bellevue University professor Cleveland Evans, the 2005-2006 president of the American Name Society, said that the results might reflect a growing concern about financial security among parents.
