Chapter One: The Case
Private Investigator Jason Rubens hung up the phone. He had just finished speaking to his latest client, who was involved in a case. Swiftly, he rose from the comfort of this leather chair, and walked towards his window. He was on the 7th story of an office building, which he had rented 5 months ago.
He was thinking to himself; When will I get a real job? All these months, he had been working on small crimes, such as pickpockets, stolen televisions, missing children. Rubens wanted a case that will expose him to the world, and show his true talents.
Picking up his coat hanging from his chair, he moved towards the door. Just then there was a knock at the door.
He could here a fumble of feet, and deep breathing. Immediately, he opened the door, hoping that it would be a client worth working for. Instead he saw the contrary. Stumbling in was a man in a leather jacket, smothered with blood. He had his hand up to his chest and was crying in pain.
Jason grabbed him by the waste and pulled him over to his chair.
"What happened?!" shouted Jason, "Who are you?".
The man could only grunt, and point in mid air. Jason knew what to do. With a concerned look on his face, and a towel, and mobile phone in each hand, he called the ambulance, and wiped of his blood at the same time. The stranger was now tapping Jason’s shoulder, and saying "Elbis….. Elbis!"
Not knowing the meaning of the man’s of cries, he ignored him.
Presently, the ambulance arrived, and took the man to the hospital, where he would be treated with special care.
Also arriving, were the police and the media. Rubens knew that he would have to talk to both of them. As if invading his office, Jason was questioned about the past’s hour events. "The man stumbled into his office, crying with pain, and uh…. He could not say anything, even though I questioned him", stated Jason to the press and the police. Jason had to go down to the police station to be interviewed by some detectives.

Chapter Two: Elbis
As he arrived at the police station, he was taken to a small room, that what completely white, with a mirror that covered one side of the wall. He was sure that there were people watching him, and recording what he was saying.
"Did the man say, or ask you anything?" questioned a detective.
"No sir", said Jason confidently, "He did not even try to speak".
"Can you be sure of this?" asked the second detective.
"Yep, definitely" Rubens guiltily answered.
Hours passed as he was interrogated. It was almost as if they wanted him to tell them something. He constantly was getting asked questions such as "Have you known this man" or "Did you see the shooter". Finally he was finished and was given the chance to leave.
Jason did not know what he had just did back then. He did not know why he had lied. Walking out of the station, towards Starbucks. Suddenly, everything blacked out and all he could see was black. Hearing screams of people in pain and torture, he saw blood and corpses. BAM! Jason seemed to wake up. People everywhere were staring at him, as if he was a sidewalk performer, after finishing his performance. He immediately walked down the street, brushing against the people, and not taking any notice of them.
A year ago, Jason had received his gun license, and carried a KWC Colt .45 Double Eagle. He was proud that he was able to carry a gun.
Taking his pistol out from his left chest holster, he took it off safety mode. He aimed carefully at his target, a young boy, whose parents were now frantic and were screaming. Rubens eyebrows went up, showing his precise aiming technique. Holding his right hand on the butt on the gun, and his left forefinger on the trigger, he squeeze the trigger.
The moment seemed to be slowed down miraculously as the bullet went soaring through the air. The screaming parents threw their bodies onto their son. WHACK!
The bullet sent a cold blood shower on the father’s head. Surprisingly (as the forensic scientists later found out) the mother was hit in the head, and resulted in severe brain damage.
People were screaming and running everywhere. Parents were running and carrying their children to safety.
Leaving the crowd of the nearby bystanders panicking, Jason walked away slowly and confidently.

Chapter Three: The Motive and the Reasoning
Immediately Jason found himself with a cup in his right hand, and a knife in the left. He stayed still for a moment, as if frozen in time. He was collecting his memories, and recalling his thoughts. The last thing he remembered was walking out of the police station, and seeing a woman who looked like as if she belonged in the asylum, walking directly next to him. Lowering his hand and putting down the knife, he was still trying to work out where he had been for (looking at his Swiss Army watch) the past 4 hours.
Naturally the police would be looking for the killer, who was supposedly him. Rubens, walked over to his flat screen Sony TV, and turned it on. On all 16 channels, there was news about a killer in the streets.
Presently, Jason was watching shaky CNN footage of the killer. Rubens, who had an instinct like a cop, was studying the report very carefully. The killer turned around, facing the camera.
"What the…" Jason shouted in shock. The face of the killer was his.
"Oh my god….. what did I do…." Whispering and muttering to himself.
He was know walking in circles around the dining table.
There was a knock on the door. Jason walk towards the door nervously. He peered through the peep-hole and saw two police offers.
"Mr. Rubens? Are you in?" they were asking.
Jason quickly ran to collect his gun, and started looking for a place to escape.
"I’ve been framed!" yelled Jason to the police.
"Mr. Rubens, please open the door, it is not my job to decide the innocent and the criminals".
Jason didn’t reply, but instead he picked up his gun and aimed precisely at the door and shot twice.
"Back up…. Requesting back up at 1 Norvely drive, 9483. Requesting immediate back up. Gun fire."
The police shouted through their walkie-talkie as they took their guns out of their holsters. Kicking the door down, and leaving a big boot mark on the cream coloured wood, the police entered the house. Splitting up, and going at opposite directions, the two police went two ways.

Chapter Four: Captured
The police caught Jason attempting to climb out of his window, onto the 6th story (maybe this was partially the reason to his failure as a crime investigator). Obviously he was taken down to the local police station, there he was interrogated.
"So you deny the fact that you had nothing to do with the killings that occurred on." the police chief was cut off in the middle of his sentence.
"Yes" answered Rubens
"You mean, ‘yes’ you were associated with the killings?" the policeman was clearly trying to get him to admit that he killed those people.
"No!", Jason was no frustrated, "How many times do I have to tell you, I-DID-NOT-KILL-THE-MAN!"
"How do you explain the video footage that we have of you, huh?" asked the chief.
Just then the door opened, and with a sigh of relief, Jason saw a familiar face, his attorney.
"This interview is over!" his lawyer informed the chief sarcastically.
Jason and his lawyer were let out of the police station, has they had a legal right to.
Walking down the steps leading towards the lobby, Fred (the attorney) wanted to know what was going on.
"What in the world is going on here, now, Jas?" asked Fred "I-I don’t know. People say I killed this guy… I don’t know!" Jason tried to prove his innocence.
"It’s all over the news," Fred stated, "I’ve even personally looked at the footage, and the murderer sure looks like you".
"You’re becoming like the cops now, your supposed to help me" Jason was getting angry.
"Yeah, well if you want me to help you," said Fred "You have to tell me what is going on!".
"Ok, meet me at Juong Train Station, at 10 am tomorrow morning".

Chapter Five: Double proves innocence
Early morning time. The blue, smoky, misty sky of Sydney was evident. It was a good feeling when you walk out on the street, smelling the air.
DING!! "Train 320 destining to Brisbane is now leaving" said the announcer.
Jason was waiting for his attorney, sitting at the bench. He was wearing his favourite brown coat, and wearing warm gloves to keep him from the cold. Unfortunately for him, he did not have his pistol with him as the police had confiscated.
"Jason," relieved that his attorney had shown, Jason stood up, "Let’s take a walk".
Whilst they were walking, Fred wanted to know what his side of the story was.
"So, what happened Jason?" asked Fred.
"It’s exactly like what I told you", said Jason not wanting to tell Fred the story, but he did any way.
"I was walking out of the police station, after I was questioned about that stranger I told you about," recalled Jason, "Then I saw this lady, a really weird looking lady, you know one of those mad old women, anyway, she glared at me and coughed."
"She what?" asked his attorney.
"Glared at me and coughed," Fred repeated, "Then I was suddenly back at home! It was just-just amazing! I was walking on the street one moment, then I was suddenly at home, in different clothes, holding a cup of tea!"
"Yeah, tell me about that stranger," Fred wanted to know, "Did he say anything to you?"
"As a matter of fact he did, he said ‘Elbis’, and repeated that" Jason told Fred.
Fred stopped dead. He turned for a moment, as if he was hiding something from Jason. Suddenly, he swirled around, with a gun at point blank range.
"What are you doing!!??" screamed Jason.
"Harba ba ba la ka shi ma da si ri fah mak shi musi" Fred said this as he was speaking in some foreign language.
"Fred, put the gun down. What has gotten into you!," Jason shouted, "ARE YOU OUT OF YOUR MIND!"
Jason wasn’t completely unable to defend himself, after all he was a private investigator. Thoughts were zooming in and out of his mind. He didn’t have a gun, he looked to his side and saw a pole. He could use that…….
Fred was still muttering the words of a foreign language, he had the gun pointed at him, and signaling to him not do try anything funny.

Chapter Six: It’s the truth that drives us
This was the moment that Jason couldn’t work out. Fred coughed, right in Jason’s face.
Jason felt as if a brick had fallen on his head, everything black out.
BOOM!
Jason opened his eyes like a new baby entering the world. He looked around him and noticed that he was now lying in his bed, at home.
This was a rather hard concept for Jason to figure out. He looked at his watch and saw that two hours had passed since he last remembered.
Jason was stumped.
Going back two hours, from when Jason and his attorney were in a crisis near the train station:
Fred was as if he was frozen in time. He had no apparent reason why he was holding this gun. He stared at Jason for a moment, then lowered his weapon.
Fred was about to say something when Jason seized the gun of Fred, then he turned around and shot him two times in the chest.
Jason brisk walked the other way towards his home. He entered his house, and noticed that the maid had arrived for his weekly cleaning (as his house was a wreck). Jason approached the maid, who stared at him.
COUGH!
Jason was in his bed at his house, and the last thing he remembered was being at point blank range with a pistol.
Jason immediately got up, ran to the living room and turned on the television.
On tv the reporters were reporting, not one but three murders that occurred today. One of the crimes was committed by a power driven politician, who killed a woman in the market, the second murderer was the police chief, and the third murderer was, WAIT! Fred!
