The Gift Gnome: The heart within

Zach was a kind hearted young gnome. Brought up with the best intentions, he had been praised and trusted through out life. Upon arriving in this city he had realised that the happy folk were poor. Zach wanted to bring joy to the families of Kaydom. With a sentimental feeling in the air, Zach was in the right mood to get started. He was going to build toys for the children and the off spring that the families of Kaydom had worked hard to raise. These toys are what the boys and girls rightfully deserve but have not received.

Now, the city of Kaydom had never heard of such kind hearted folk, nor have they ever encountered any. So if Zach were to succeed in his plan, he would be welcomed and praised for ever.

Zach got to work immediately, building, and crafting wonderful toys. Hammer hammer. Saw saw. Chisel chisel. Carefully planning were each nut and bolt goes, he would craft perfect little toys. After man hours of work, he was finally finished.

He had to now deliver the toys to each and every boy and girl. Carefully picking the dwellings and residence of the not-so-fortunate. With the help of his Gorlay (an animal much like an elephant), he was to saw through the night sky, climbing down each chimney to deliver.

At one house that he had come upon, he found that there was a magical mystical rug. Now, any ordinary gnome would have been tempted to steal it (as this was a gnomes nature). Suddenly, without warning he was swept of his feet and taken into another world.

At this very point of time Zach must have been thinking, what did I do to deserve this. The very place that he landed was beside a tree. He looked around and saw the tall, dark gloomy trees.

An old leprechaun approached him from afar. Not taking another chance for assistance, he too approached the creature. The creature spoke words that he could not understand. Feeling upset that he couldn’t be offered help, he walked away.

Zach was expecting the leprechaun to walk away too, but what happened was quite the contrary. The leprechaun spoke words in the gnome’s native tongue. Zach stopped in the mud. He turned and swiftly returned.

The gnome was about to speak but the leprechaun raised his hand, signally him to hold silent. Zach learnt that the only way to escape out of what seemed hell, was to go on this magical quest.

He was to find a crown that would bring peace and prosperity to the people of Kaydom. Zach was appointed this difficult task, as he was one with a heart for everyone.
