Mary-Kate Relapse?
Sources say that an unexplained absence from the college scene is due to the fact that the super-thin starlet has relapsed.
Mary-Kate Olsen's publicist, Michael Pagnotta, denied reports that aired on NBC's Today show that the former Full House star has suffered a setback and returned to Los Angeles. Pagnotta declared the rumors that the actress was dangerously thin and suffered an eating disorder setback "flatly not true." A source close to the actress said, "She's moved back to L.A. and might be staying indefinitely. She may not go back to school. Ashley says she's not sure if Mary-Kate wants to come back. They talk on the phone all the time."
Pagnotta said Mary-Kate was in L.A. "on professional business" and "will be returning to New York in a week." Pagnotta went on to say, "She has not relapsed. She will have ups and downs...good periods and bad periods. I don't think it's fair to scrutinize her on a daily basis. We have to rely on the judgments of people who treat Mary-Kate, not from the kids who call from restaurants and classes." Mary-Kate has been under harsh scrutiny since her release from rehab for her anorexia.
In a matter of months, Mary -Kate has been in rehab for an eating disorder, entered college, gained control of a multi-billion dollar company, and split from a longtime boyfriend. That all seems pretty stressful, even for the most well adjusted teen. Maybe she just needed a little hiatus from campus life. That doesn't necessarily mean she has suffered a setback. Mary-Kate's love life has been like a yo-yo. She split from boyfriend David Katzenberg some months ago, but the couple can't seem to make-up their mind about whether or not they want to be together. Earlier this month the two were spotted looking very chummy while he visited Manhattan on a weekend holiday from Boston College. She has also been seen getting cozy with L.A. businessman Ali Fatourechi, although sources say they are "just friends."
